Bellissima Vita Weddings is our featured vendor this time around and for good reason. Lisa Blake is the wedding coordinator behind BV Weddings and she is the mastermind of the Lovely Details Showcase. Lisa is meticulous and focused and she will do a wonderful job coordinating your wedding. Check out her blog for lots of ideas on cool wedding related stuff. At the moment, she is doing design and day of coordination, so if you need either service (and let’s face it, everyone needs a day of coordinator, but more on that later) definitely give her a call. OK, so it looks like a “vendor of the week” post may have been a bit ambitious, especially during the winter when we are not working with many vendors.  Realizing this, we are changing the recurring title to “Vendor of the every other week or so” to be a bit more honest.

This time we are celebrating Stinkerpants!  We met Sara at the Lovely Details Showcase over the weekend and we love what she does, custom illustrations for your save the dates, invitations, escort cards…  It’s such a great way to personalize your wedding materials and to make them really unique.  Check out an example of her work (which I nabbed off of her website, I hope she doesn’t mind).

BTW, she is a bride planning her own wedding right now, so she is in tune with all that you are going through.

I’ve been lagging on my blog lately because it’s a crazy time of year. You’d think that January would actually slow down for those of us in the wedding biz, but apparently not. Between getting ready for our first bridal fair next weekend, entering contests for 2007′s best photos and meeting new potential clients, I haven’t been able to leave this computer for 2 weeks. My eyes!

If you are interested in coming by the FREE bridal show next weekend, here is the link Lovely Details Showcase.  It will be a sweet intimate fair, only 11 or so vendors, with lots of ideas for table tops, place cards, menus…  Also, Ms Penquin of the Wedding Bee is going to do a Gocco demonstration, so all you arts and crafty types should come check that out.  The date is Sunday, February 3 and the time is from 11:30-3.  I know it’s Superbowl Sunday, but you can come by and still make it to the party (if you are into that kind of thing).   Did I mention that the showcase is FREE!

With the holidays and all, I took a couple week break from my “Vendor of the Week” posts, but now I’m ready to get back on track. I love Talin, the owner of Fleur de Vie! She does such a great job creating imaginative designs for her clients and I think they really stand out. On 7-7-7 I shot a wedding at the Calistoga Ranch and the bride had this great idea for her reception. She hired Doug Shannon to do caricatures of any guests who wanted one, and believe me, everyone wanted one. Doug spends about a minute and a half on each caricature, so he can really crank ‘em out. Having Doug really adds a touch to your reception or cocktail hour that will stand out in the memory of your guests.

I’m kicking off my new “Vendor of the Week” series by recommending a vendor who does more to dramatically enhance the look of a wedding than almost any other single vendor, Got Light. When the folks at Got Light are brought in, a pretty room becomes beautiful and a beautiful room is pushed over the top to absolutely gorgeous. Of course, I’m a bit biased since light is the stock and trade of photography, but take a look at some examples of their work below.
